San Francisco Giants' Lee Jung-hoo made three consecutive hits. As time goes by, the hitting seems to be getting better.
Lee Jung-hoo started as a center fielder and third batter in an away showdown with the San Diego Padres in the 2025 Major League exhibition game at Peoria Stadium in Peoria, Arizona on the 5th (Korea time) and recorded 1 hit in 2 at-bats.
▲ starting lineup
San Francisco: Ramonte Wade Jr. (first baseman) - Eliot Ramos (left fielder) - Lee Jung-hoo (designated hitter) - Herar Encarnacion (designated hitter) - Patrick Bailey (catcher) - Louis Matos (right fielder) - Tyler Fitzgerald (second baseman) - Brett Weisley (striker) - Casey Schmidt (third baseman), starting pitcher Landon Loop.
San Diego: Luis Arraez (first baseman) - Fernando Tatis Jr. (designated hitter) - Jackson Merrill (middle fielder) - Manny Machado (third baseman) - Jake Cronenworth (second baseman) - Xander Bogaerts (striker) - Jason Heyward (left fielder) - Tiso Onales (right fielder) - Martin Maldonado (catcher), starting pitcher Nick Pivetta.
Despite not fully recovering his sense of play at the exhibition game, Lee has been recovering the sense of hitting fast enough to post multiple hits in two consecutive games. On the same day, Lee made a hit on his bat, and posted a hit in three consecutive games.
With a large number of key players in both teams, Lee entered the batter's box first with one out and one on the first base in the top of the first inning. However, the outcome was regrettable. Lee watched the first pitch against Pivetta, who moved to the San Diego Padres through a four-year, 55 million-dollar contract this winter, before recording a foul on the second pitch, drawing the disadvantageous count of 0B-2S. He then stuck his bat out to a curveball formed by a low strike zone on his body on the third pitch, but started the game by striking out swinging.
As the game between the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres took place in the fourth inning, Lee took the batter's box for the second time. He immediately got his first hit. Against San Diego Padres changed pitcher Wandy Peralta, Lee gave his bat to the sinker of 94.1 miles (about 151.4 kilometers) at the third pitch, which was pushed to the center of the strike zone at a very advantageous count of 2B-0S, and the ball that stretched at a whopping 108.2 miles (about 174.1 kilometers) led to a hit that fell in front of center field.
As a result, Lee Jung-hoo succeeded in recording a hit in three consecutive exhibition games, which led to the first hit in both San Francisco and San Diego. However, Lee Jung-hoo's hit did not continue to score as the follow-up hit did not break out. And as the ball and defense shift took place just before Lee Jung-hoo entered the batter's box in the top of the sixth inning, Lee Jung-hoo was unable to play until the third at-bat on the day, and unfortunately, he did not have a multi-hit in three consecutive games as he was replaced by Wade McCler before the defense in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Still, Lee displayed impressive performance at exhibition games. Lee Jung-hoo had seven hits, one home run, two RBIs, five runs and a batting average of 0.412 OPS of 1.147 in seven games including Tuesday's game. 먹튀검증
